The 50 First Foods Interactive Exploration Chart has been designed to help you in your weaning journey and has been created using foods from the NHS recommended list. The chart includes known allergens, highlighted clearly with the letter A. These foods should not be introduced before six months and should be given one at a time with a 3-day gap in between. This allows you to identify any allergic reactions.
We regularly consult with paediatric specialists, nutritionists, and experts, but we do not claim to be medical or healthcare professionals ourselves. To this end, we always recommend referencing the primary sources of verified and trusted information and advice that we, as parents, use ourselves.

More about 50 First Foods Exploration Tick Chart
Encourages exploration when introducing new foods, and helps you keep track as they touch, hold, smell, taste, chew, and safely swallow.
Harnessing their natural curiosity will avoid the pitfalls of picky eating and make their mealtimes more adventurous and fun for the whole family.
A visual reminder of how often you’ve tried foods. None of us can remember whether we’ve introduced each food enough times, so let this help! Babies need at least five exposures to a food before figuring out whether they like it. Keep trying, keep ticking and keep having fun as you enjoy this precious journey together.
Maximises the window of opportunity when babies are open to trying new things. The more foods they’ve tried before 12 months, the less likely they’ll be a picky eater. Introduce as much variety as possible to help baby develop essential sensory and mouth muscle skills, setting them up for success with speech too.
We’ve done the hard work for you! Get started with 50 foods from the NHS-approved list (we’ve highlighted allergens) and simply record on the wipeable chart every time you explore a new food together.
Keep it in the kitchen or dining room, so it’s always on hand for mealtime adventures.
Build confidence and enjoy fun-filled mealtime adventures with our wipe-clean 50 First Foods Exploration Chart. Use from the early stages of weaning to track the foods your baby tries and how often. Recording each exposure to reach the recommended minimum of five times will help jog your memory and work towards the baby’s acceptance of different foods.
With the help of experts, we’ve developed a practical road map at the top of the chart. It’ll help you explore all the ways your little one can experience food, supporting them to grow and stay curious. Whether baby touches, squishes, smells, or tastes it, it counts, so be sure to log it on their chart. Remember that the best time to introduce new foods is between 6 and 12 months because babies are more open to new tastes and flavours.
Bibado is a British brand on a mission to make a positive difference for children and parents in the feeding and messy play space. Inspired by her twins' messy mealtimes, our founder Rachel created the award-winning Coverall which is now used by 1 in 6 UK families.
Childhood and parenthood are some of the most amazing adventures in our lives and Bibado wants to help you enjoy every second. We want to encourage a love of curiosity within both children and parents.
We're delighted that Bibado and its products have won many awards on its journey and in 2023, our flagship Long Sleeve Coverall was award the prestigious King's Award for Enterprise in innovation.
Lovely chart, very colourful & clear. Love the allergen symbol as a lot of other charts dont have that.
When it first arrived, it was packed together with the coveralls so there was a bit of crease and a long fold across the chart and which to my utter surprise was replaced immediately after I message the team if they could help me with it. I am very grateful. Thank you so much! Love the design and the straightforward tick boxes to keep track of the first solids to give the little one.
We love this chart, Really helps us identify what to give our daughter next.
